Flip the Gantt from Estimated Time to Actual Time and every bar redraws from the time your team has actually logged — a task's projected total is simply the hours logged divided by how complete it is. An 8-hour task that's taken 6.5 hours to get half done projects to 13, so the overrun shows up long before the deadline does. Name as many project deadlines as the job needs and pin tasks to the one they belong to — the nearest deadline still open reads On Track, At Risk or Missed.
